In 1983 a totally new luxury touring motorcycle from Yamaha appeared. The Venture. The 1198 cc measuring engine was made for touring, much torque at low rpm. Everything had to be bigger, more and more beautiful. Yamaha developed a totally new concept. Not an existing machine with more parts and full fairing, no, a totally new machine with all the luxury you only can imagine. The results are great, a quiet and comfortable machine. The steering is adjustable, the seat is designed for maximum comfort. A standard and a deluxe model was released. The deluxe version for the U.S. market and beyond (without 27mc), the standard version for outside the USA with only a cruise control as luxury. Yamaha has created a machine that could compete well with the Honda Goldwing. Venture riders have learned to respect the Venture and will not easily switch to another brand. According to most riders, the 1200 Venture has the best driving performance.
